XtenCHO™ Expression Medium: Optimized for High-Yield CHO Cell Protein Production

The XtenCHO™ Expression Medium is specifically formulated for small to medium-scale recombinant protein production in Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells. This serum-free, animal-component-free, and chemically defined medium ensures high reproducibility and batch-to-batch consistency, providing researchers with a reliable and optimized culture environment. Its serum-free composition significantly enhances transfection efficiency, while its formulation supports balanced cell growth and viability in suspension cultures.

When used in combination with XtenCHO™ Race Cells and the XtenCHO™ Race Transfection Kit, this system has achieved an exceptional antibody production yield of 904 mg/L, making it a market leader in transient gene expression.
How to Use XtenCHO™ Expression Medium

The XtenCHO™ Expression Medium is designed for high-efficiency transient transfection, supporting volumes from a few milliliters to 10 liters. It serves both for transfection and cell sub-culturing, simplifying experimental workflows and reducing variability in conditions.

The XtenCHO™ Starter Kit includes comprehensive protocols for seamless integration into various lab setups, ensuring ease of use and adaptability.

Supplementation Requirements

For optimal transfection results, XtenCHO™ Expression Medium requires additional supplementation with:

L-Glutamine (8mM): A crucial nutrient for cell metabolism and growth. However, due to its rapid hydrolysis, regular supplementation is necessary to maintain its effective concentration and avoid toxic byproducts.
Anti-Clumping Agent (0.5%): Prevents cell aggregation in suspension cultures. However, it should not be added during transfection, as it can negatively impact protein yields.

Culture Conditions

For best results, use XtenCHO™ Expression Medium in:

-Sterile, vented, baffled Erlenmeyer shake flasks
-Incubator shaker set at 37°C, ≥80% relative humidity, and 5% CO₂
