Description of Sialidase-3（NEU3)

General Information about Sialidase-3 (NEU3)

The gene product belongs to the family of glycohydrolases, which remove sialic acid residues from glycoproteins and glycolipids. It is located in the plasma membrane and its activity is specific to gangliosides. It may play a role in regulating the ganglioside content of the lipid bilayer.
